Abstract

Thesis Title: The Difference in Achievement Motivation Based on Gender Among Eighth Grade Students of SMPK St. Theresia "Disamakan" Kupang in the Academic Year 2024/2025. The problem in this study is whether there is a difference in achievement motivation based on gender among eighth grade students of SMP Katolik St. Theresia “Disamakan” Kupang in the academic year 2024/2025. The purpose of this study is to determine the difference in achievement motivation between male and female eighth grade students of SMP Katolik St. Theresia “Disamakan” Kupang in the academic year 2024/2025. This study employs a descriptive quantitative research design with a comparative approach. The population consists of 120 eighth grade students of SMPK St. Theresia Kupang in the academic year 2024/2025. The sample represents 25% of the population, totaling 32 students. The instrument used in this study is an achievement motivation questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the t-test and Independent Sample T-Test. The results show that the average achievement motivation of female students is 117.50, while the average achievement motivation of male students is 89.86. The ttest results indicate a t-value of 3.793 with a significance level of 0.001 (
