Abstract
The problems in this paper are: (1) Why is the symbolic modeling technique through group guidance services used to improve student learning discipline? (2) What is the procedure for using symbolic modeling techniques through group guidance services to improve student learning discipline? (3) Is the symbolic modeling technique through group guidance services effective for improving student learning discipline?.The purpose of writing this thesis is to (1) find out the reasons for using symbolic modeling techniques through group guidance services to improve student learning discipline (2) find out the process of using symbolic modeling techniques through group guidance services to improve student learning discipline (3) find out the effectiveness of symbolic modeling techniques through group guidance services to improve student learning discipline. The type of writing this thesis is qualitative by using the literature study method. The object of study in this paper is symbolic modeling techniques and learning disciplines. The source of data used by the author is secondary data in the form of books, articles and journals related to this writing.The results of the discussion are: the reason for using symbolic modeling techniques because it can help students learn through the process of observing others and change can occur through imitation. The purpose of the symbolic modeling technique is to form new behaviors that are often ignored by students. The symbolic modeling technique has the advantage of being able to help students learn to develop new behaviors, help students solve their own problems and help students think to regulate their behavior for the better. The procedures used in the process of applying symbolic modeling techniques to improve student learning discipline. The procedures taken to improve learning discipline are rational, giving examples, practice/practice,homework and evaluation. To find out the effectiveness of symbolic modeling techniques in improving learning discipline, it is seen from Suandriani's research article with the title of research on the application of symbolic modeling techniques through behavioral counseling to improve learning discipline which says that symbolic modeling techniques can effectively improve learning discipline.Starting from the results of the study above, suggestions are given to (1) writers are expected to strive to improve insight, knowledge and skills about symbolic modeling techniques that can be applied to student learning disciplines (2) readers are expected to strive to increase knowledge and skills about techniques symbolic modeling that can be used to help students overcome their problems.
