Abstract

The title of the thesis: the application of positive reinforcement techniques through group guidance to increase student interest in learning. The problems studied in this thesis are 1) why is positive reinforcement technique through group guidance applied to increase student interest in learning?, 2) how is the process of applying positive reinforcement technique through group guidance to increase student interest in learning?, and 3) is the application of positive reinforcement technique through group guidance effective for improvement student learning interest?. This thesis aims to find out 1) the reasons for applying positive reinforcement techniques to increase student interest in learning, 2) the process of applying positive reinforcement techniques through group guidance to increase student interest in learning, and 3) the effectiveness of applying positive reinforcement techniques through group guidance to increase student interest in learning. The writing of this thesis uses the literature study method. The object of study in this thesis is positive reinforcement technique, group guidance and interest in learning. The data source in this thesis is a secondary data source. The type of data is qualitative data. The results of the study in this thesis are as follows: 1) the positive reinforcement technique is applied because this technique aims to change the counselee's behavior for the better by providing pleasant reinforcement so that the desired behavior tends to be maintained, repeated, increased and settled in the future. 2) The positive reinforcement technique through group guidance is carried out in four stages, namely the formation stage, the transition stage, the activity stage (a positive reinforcement technique is applied which consists of five stages, namely collecting information about problems through ABC, choosing the desired behavioral goals, determining meaningful reinforcement, setting a schedule provision of reinforcement, and application of reinforcement) as well as the termination stage of group guidance. 3) Positive reinforcement techniques through group guidance have proven to be effective for increasing student interest in learning. Its effectiveness can be seen from the articles of previous research that are relevant to this thesis. Based on the results of the study, the authors provide suggestions to 1) BK teachers are expected to use the results of this writing as reference material to deepen knowledge, insight, and skills in applying positive reinforcement techniques through group guidance to increase student interest in learning. 2) writers are expected to better understand and be skilled in applying positive reinforcement techniques through group guidance in increasing student interest in learning.
