Abstract

This study aimend to describe the ability of number sense secondry school students in solving mathematical problems integer material.This research is a qualitative descriptive study, junior high school Angkasa Kupang students study subjects. The study began with determining the subject of research by discusing with the subject teachers and saw three grades the fiest semester the student has the ability of high, medium and low, then the researchers gave the task of broblem solving and the interview to each student. The data was obtained as follows: Student with high ability is able to understand the problem well and can solve the problem in accordance with the settlement with the steps the solution properly and able to complete the arithmetic oparation of the given problem in accordance with steps to resolve the gooand true. Student with the ability of being able to understand the problem well and can solve the problem in accordance with the settlement with the steps properly and could complete the arithmetic operations of the problem in accordance with the completion of the steps is good and right that multiplies first and then add them together. Student with low ability are able to understand the problem well but have difficulty in resolving the issue in accordance with the completion of the steps properly and had a little mistake in completing arithmetich operations in accordance with steps t resolve when summing so that the results obtained are also wrong.
