Abstract
Discovery learning model is a learning model which involves students active to solve the problems given by the teachers. The general problem in this research is “to know the result in implementing the model discovery learning in heat and displacement at seventhgrade students of SMPS 2 Kupang in 2016/2017”. The spesific problems are: 1). How about the teachers competence in teaching by implementing the discovery learning model?, 2). How about indicator result of students in discovery?, 3). How about the learning result of students by implementing discovery learning model?, 4). How about the students respon in learning? Based on these problems, the aim of this research is to describe the result in implementing discovery learning model in head and displacement at seventhgrade students of SMPS Adhyaksa 2 Kupang in 2016/2017. The spesific aims are: 1). To describe teachers competence in managing learning by implementing discovery model. 2). Describe indicator result students in learning.3). Describe the learning result students by implementing discovery learning model. 4). Describe students respond in learning. The type of this research is descriptive. The population is all the seventhgradestudents of SMPS Adhyaksa 2 Kupang. The sample is seventhgrade students of class B with the total is 25 students. The techniques used in the research are observation, test and questionare. In the research, the students material in used. Besides material, the sylabus, lesson plan, students worksheet, students discussion and questions test are used as well. The instrumen used are observation sheet and result test. The technique used in descriptive (by calculating of rate score, proportional and pereentage). Based on the result of analysis shows that the teachers competence in managing learning in implementing discovery learning is 3,81 rate, implementing is 3,77 and evaluation is 3,85. The result shows good. The indicator product 0,84 rate, indicator result affective is 3,84, indicator shows 3,66. The spiritual score 3,66, sosial attitude 3,52, score among the students 3,41 is very excelent. The students respond in learning 90,08%, it is very high. In learning prosess, the time allocation must be developed and done well. Based on the above research, it can conclud that implementation of model discover learningy in temperature and its change at seventhgrade students of class B SMPS Adhyaksa 2 Kupang in 2016/2017 is optimal.
