Abstract

The development of technology is currently very rapid, as is transportation in the car rental sector. The process of getting car rental information for tourism purposes in the Sumba archipelago is still very difficult to access because every visitor has to visit a car rental location. Most local people, domestic and foreign tourists are still confused in finding information about car rental. Some people still ask and look for information about car rentals and come directly to car rental locations which make it less efficient with time. The application that will be built helps the community and tourists to get car rental information. Visitors can see a list of available cars along with a complete description of the car. The application is also accompanied by a booking system that can be accessed in an android-based application. For system management, it will also make it easier for rental admins to have a web admin manager. Where, you can add data collection such as adding car information, order confirmation, confirming the return of the car with the time that has been rented, if there is a delay, the admin system will automatically fine according to the provisions of the tenant. Then, the methodology used in this system is the waterfall method and its implementation uses Android Studio 4.0 as a tool for building applications, PHP, Java and XAMPP version 3.2.4 which includes the Apache and MySQL packages as database management web servers. The results of this study as a car rental application so that it is easier for the public and tourists to get car rental information and not waste a lot of time just to visit the car rental location. The old system that runs on every car rental in the Sumba islands will be developed with a new system that is online using android and the web.
