Abstract
Thesis title: the effectiveness of using self-talk techniques through group counseling to increase students' learning independence. The problems discussed in this thesis are (1) why self-talk techniques can be used to increase student learning independence? (2) how is the process of using self-talk techniques through group counseling to increase student learning independence ?and (3) whether the use of self-talk techniques through group counseling effectively improve student learning independence? The purpose of writing a thesis is to (1) Know the reasons for using self-talk techniques in increasing student learning independence, (2) knowing the procedures for using self-talk techniques through group counseling to increase student learning independence and (3) knowing the effectiveness of self-talk techniques through group counseling. to improve student learning independence. The writing of this thesis uses the literature study method. the data source used in this thesis is a secondary data source. The type of data used is qualitative data. The object of study in this thesis is about group counseling self-talk techniques and independent learning. The self-talk technique is used for individuals who are less independent in learning because the self-talk technique is a technique that can help students learn to talk to themselves or make positive self-statements that challenge unreasonable beliefs in themselves. The process of applying self-talk training techniques to increase student learning independence is carried out through a forum, namely group counseling activities. Group counseling services have four stages, namely the stage of formation, transition, activity and termination. While the stages of the self-talk technique are finding the positive side of yourself, stopping yourself from turning on, talking to yourself, giving yourself a smile, interacting with people. Self-talk technique is effective in increasing student learning independence, this is supported by articles of previous research which have proven that after being given treatment using self-talk techniques, there is an increase in student learning independence. Based on the results of writing this thesis, it is hoped that: a)Readers are expected to make more efforts to improve their knowledge, insight, understanding, and skills about the topics studied in the research proposal b) BK teachers are expected to deepen their knowledge and improve their skills in applying self-talk techniques to improve Student learning independence, c) The author is expected to better understand the process of applying self-talk techniques to increase student learning independence.
