Abstract

Education is a transformation effort that then puts humans at better conditions and progress in the areas of life that surrounded him. Interaction between teachers and students is an integral part in determining the achievable goal of the implementation of the school environment education itself is one of the goals of the learning gained through the process of teaching and learning mathematics is good. Active learning method type Group to Group Exchange is one of the methods that can renew learning system that is no longer lead to the involvement of the student in learning. The problem in this study is how the application of active learning methods type Group to Group Exchange in improving students' mathematics learning outcomes. The research was conducted in class VII in SMP Karya Ruteng school year 2013/2014 . This study was conducted in three cycles and each cycle consisting of planning, action, observation and reflection. In collecting the data, the researcher used the method of observation, tests, questionnaires and interviews. These results indicate an increase in learning outcomes , it can be seen from the results of both observations and test results from cycle to cycle increased. In the first cycle, the average student activity 2,74 (enough), the ability of the teacher to manage learning 2,92 (enough) while the percentage of classes in classical 66,67%. In the second cycle an average of 3,21 student activity (good), the ability of the teacher to manage learning 3,41 (good) while the percentage of classes in classical 72,73%. And the third cycle average of 3,49 student activity (good), the ability of the teacher to manage learning 3,71 (good) while the percentage of classes in classical 87,88%. From these results it can be concluded that the type of active learning methods to Group Exchange Group can improve student learning outcomes SMP class Karya Ruteng academic year 2013/2014 in the subject of social arithmetic. Based on these conclusions, the researchers suggest the mathematics teacher to be an active learning method type Group to Group Exchange can be an alternative to implementing the learning, especially on the subject of social arithmetic .
