Abstract

Irian Jaya road, Fatubesi, Kota Lama District, Kupang City is one of teh roads which is under the authority of the city government. This road section is busy being traversed by motorists because Irian jaya roads has several locations for community activists such as offices, restaurants and banks. Due community activities and inadequate parking, some people use the shoulder of the road to be used as a parking area, caungsing congestion and hindering the journey of other mototists. Therefore it is necessary to analyze the impact of roadside parking on the capacity and level of service on Irian jaya roads. The method used refers to the basics of the 1997 Indonesian Road Capasity Manual. Data colecction in this study is primary data and seconndary data. Where primary data is obtained through surveys at the research location which includes speed data, traffic volume data, side obstacle date, and geometruc data. While secondary data inculedes location maps and population data obtained from the Kupang City Statistic Agency. Based on the results pf the Q/C analysis, it can be concluded that the Irian Jaya Road section, Fatubesi, Kupang city eith a reaserch segment length of 100 meterts currently has a level of service F. Where the factors thas cause congestion are high side obstacles, especially parking on the edge of road with a percentage pf roadside parking on Monday, April 17, 2023 reachinh 89%.
