Abstract

This study aims to determine the profile of solving mathematical problems of junior high school students in visual, auditorial and kinesthetic learning styles. The instruments used in this study were learning style questionnaires, problem-solving tests and interviews. The subjects in this study were class VII B students totaling 17 people and 3 people were taken as research subjects, namely 1 person with a visual learning style, 1 person with an auditorial learning style and 1 person with a kinesthetic learning style. Subject selection was based on the results of the learning style questionnaire test, then the subjects were given a mathematical problemsolving test of social arithmetic material and then an interview was conducted. The results of this study show that 1) students with visual learning styles are able to understand problems well, plan solutions and implement problem solving plans correctly with neat and organized handwriting, and re-examine the answers that have been made. 2) Students with auditorial learning styles already understand problems well and have good speaking skills, plan solutions and implement problem solving plans with abbreviations and with appropriate answers, and check the results of the truth that are examined. 3) Students with a kinesthetic learning style is able to understand problems well, plan solutions and implement problemsolving plans with untidy writing, and re-examine.
