Abstract

Go Laba is a traditional Ngada musical instrument that accompanies the ja'i dance of five gongs and two drums. Go Laba is commonly used in events, namely grand guest pick-ups, sa'o events, and other entertainment events. The main problem in this study is traditional music games that have never been played in accompanying dance creations and how the methods used in playing Go Laba musical instruments and the process of playing Go Laba music games. The purpose of this study was to determine the learning process of the game made by traditional music Go Laba creation patterns in accompanying the Suli Kosu dance of the Bajawa ethnicity using imitation and drill methods. The results showed that the learning process was carried out in the following steps: the initial stage which began with the recruitment process of students interested in music. In the core stage, researchers explain the aims and objectives of the research and provide material related to Go Laba's traditional music. Furthermore, it was carried out into various meetings for traditional music games, Go Laba, patterns of creation. In the final stage, research subjects are required to be able to apply what has been trained and presented in the form of ensemble performances and documented in video form as the end of the research. Based on the results of the research above, it can be concluded that the game of traditional music Made by Go Laba creation pattern in accompanying the Suli Kosu dance using imitation and drill methods was successful and quite effective in ntroducing the game of traditional music work Go Laba creation pattern to students asking for music at SMA Negeri 4 Kupang.
