Abstract

Dynamics is a sign to determine the loudness of a part or phrase of a musical sentence. Dynamics serves to show the emotions or feelings in a composition, such as cheerful, sad, or flat. In other words, dynamics is useful for showing the nuances of a song. The Church of St. Ignasius Matani is one of the groups that has high enthusiasm and enthusiasm for singing in the choir, especially choir services in the church, but pays little attention to singing techniques, in this case dynamics techniques. This is due to a lack of understanding from the conductor or choir trainer regarding dynamic signs. From the problems above, the researcher is interested in conducting research on the application of dynamics techniques with the I'm Thankful to You Song Model with the formulation of the problem, namely how is the process of applying dynamics techniques to the song I'm Thankful to You in the KUB St Ignasius Matani choir. This study aims to identify and apply dynamics techniques to research subjects. This study used a qualitative approach and field action methods. This research was conducted in three stages, namely, the initial stage, the researcher recruited research subjects, the core stage was carried out for 9 meetings and the final stage was video recording of the research results. The results showed that the learning methods used in the research process were the Imitation method and the Drill really helps research subjects in mastering the material being studied. This can be seen from the development of research subjects when compared to before the research was conducted. Subjects were able to sing according to the dynamic signs in the research song model, even though the subjects had different abilities or abilities and this research was a new thing for them but through continuous practice, research subjects were able to sing according to the signs. dynamic signs in the song at the end of the study. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the application of dynamics techniques with the song model I'm grateful to You is able to improve the skills of the people of St. Ignatius' Kub in applying dynamic signs to songs and the Imitation and Drill method used in the learning process this is useful for learning the application of singing techniques in this case dynamics techniques
