Abstract
This study aims to determine the increase in students' conceptual understanding skills after using a scientific approach in class VIII SMP N 3 Kupang Tengah. The research design used was the One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sampling used is saturated sampling. The sample in this study were 21 grade VIII students of SMPN 3 Kupang Tengah. The tools used in this research are validation sheets and students' concept comprehension tests. The results showed that students' conceptual comprehension skills increased with an N-Gain score of 0.73 in the high category. Based on the results of the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the application of a scientific approach can improve students' understanding of conceptual understanding.
