Abstract
The song "Mama Bo'i Sue Do" is one of several regional songs in Rote Ndao Regency that were almost lost. Most of those who enjoy or know this song come from older people or parents, so young people's knowledge of this song is very poor and some have never heard it. There are also those who know this song but don't know the meaning or meaning as a whole because the language used in the lyrics is not the language used in everyday life. The formulation of the problem in this research is to analyze the meaning of the lyrics of the song " Mama Boi Sue Do ” by Yusuf Nggebu from Rote Ndao Regency . The aim of this writing is to understand and express the overall meaning contained in the lyrics of the song " Mama Boi Sue Do " by Yusuf Nggebu from Rote Ndao Regency. This research is qualitative in nature. The research method used was field action and the data in the research was obtained through observation, interviews and documentation. The object of this research is the lyrics of the song entitled "Mama Bo'i Sue Do" by Yusuf Nggebu. The results and discussion of this research show that this song has its own aesthetic value for listeners, especially in some Rote communities because the language used in the song's lyrics is the classical Thie language and the Ba'a language in general and uses poetry that contains elements of typical characteristics of the cultural life of the people of Rote Ndao Regency. . This was proven through interviews with several people from various circles who revealed the meaning contained in the lyrics of the song "Mama Bo'i Sue Do" by Yusuf Nggebu from Rote Ndao Regency.
