Abstract
Neku Wenggu dance is a traditional dance of the Tomberabu II Village community. This dance is danced as part of the traditional ritual of Poto Tozho (harvest gratitude) which is held every year. In the Neku Wenggu Dance, there is a special attraction that is implicit in its unique foot movements that are different from other dances in Ende. The existence of this dance is not widely known by people outside Tomberabu II Village. This is due to the progress of the times or modernization which has an impact on the habits of the community including the younger generation, which tend to ignore traditional dances and rarely participate actively in traditional ceremonies. This causes the younger generation to not really understand the presentation form of the Neku Wenggu Dance. The formulation of the problem studied is how the presentation of Neku Wenggu Dance at the Poto Tozho traditional ceremony of Tomberabu II Village, Ende District, Ende Regency. This study aims to determine and analyze the form of presentation of Neku Wenggu Dance at the Photo Tozo traditional ceremony of Tomberabu II Village, Ende District, Ende Regency. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach using ethnochoreographic methods. Data were collected through observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative.The results of this study indicate that Neku Wenggu Dance consists of 5 types of movements with the name of each motion including the first variety of Neku Wenggu, the second variety of Wae Wazi Ndawe, the third variety of Koro Ora Ro, the fourth variety of Ze Zengge Tazi, the fifth variety of Dera Ae Mai and with their respective movements. Neku Wenggu dance has a floor design in the form of a spiral circle resembling a snake circle. The dancers of Neku Wenggu Dance use natural makeup according to the will of the dancer concerned. The clothing used is, women use Ende traditional clothes (zambu nua) with Ende traditional sarong (zawo), while men use neat free clothes with Ende traditional sarong (zuka), destar from woven fabric (zesu) and sling from woven fabric (semba) and without using footwear. The performance venue for Neku Wenggu Dance is held in a large area in the local language called Oranata Mere (main custom court) in the middle of which there is Tubu Musu (traditional vortex) in the form of a stone monument and one bamboo stick decorated with enau leaves and the property used is in the form of two tails of horse animals. This research makes an important contribution in documentation and analysis and emphasizes that Neku Wenggu Dance is not only a form of performing art, but also a means of strengthening the social and spiritual bonds of the local community.
