Abstract
This research was written by Maria Viorela Perada Payong (31120054), Development Economics Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business under the guidance of supervisor I Mrs. Emiliana Martuti Lawalu, SE, ME and supervisor II Br. Salomon Leki, SE, M.Ec.Dev with the research title "Utilization of Online Motorcycle Taxi Transportation (Study on UNWIRA Independent Campus Students Grabbike Customers". The purpose of this study is to determine the social and economic impact of the use of online motorcycle taxi transportation (Grabbike) for students and to find out the allocation of student expenditure for Grabbike online motorcycle taxi transportation. The analysis technique used in this study is qualitative descriptive with data collection methods through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that the presence of online motorcycle taxi transportation such as grabbike has had a significant social and economic impact on students as a choice of transportation mode to campus or anywhere. However, not only positive impacts but negative impacts as well. The positive social impact of the use of grabbike provides convenience and smoothness for the accessibility and mobility of student transportation and the presence of this grabbike is very beneficial for students who do not have a private vehicle and are far from public transportation lines, more effective and efficient very helpful for students in solving problems on campus or in other places when the situation is urgent and saves time and energy. Positive economic impacts for students such as saving time and energy, saving expenses by taking advantage of promos or discounts provided on the application, ease of non-cash payments through services such as GrabPay and Ovo and more planned in managing finances. Economically, expenditure on transportation costs increases without any planning. This has a negative impact because the expenditure is greater. The allocation of student expenses for transportation is IDR 50,000-IDR 100,000 with a total of 20 people, IDR 101,000- IDR 150,000 with a total of 12 people, IDR 151,000-IDR 200,000 with a total of 8 people, and IDR 201,000-IDR 300,000 with a total of 3 people.
