Abstract

In various regions of Indonesia, many people's traditional cultures are starting to disappear. This is caused by the negative impact of the very rapid development of science and technology which is eroding traditional culture and awareness and low community participation in maintaining and preserving traditional culture. Sanggar Compang To'e is a forum for preserving traditional arts in Liang Ndara Village, West Manggarai. The problems in this research are 1) What is the form of the Rangkuk Alu Dance performance. 2) What is the role of the Compang To'e Studio in preserving the Rangkuk Alu Dance as an effort to maintain local culture in Liang Ndara Village, Mbeliling District, West Manggarai Regency. This research aims to describe the form of the Rangkuk Alu Dance performance and Describe the role of Sanggar Compang To'e in preserving the Rangkuk Alu dance as an effort to maintain local culture in Liang Ndara Village, Mbeliling District, West Manggarai Regency. The method used in this research is an ethnographic method with a qualitative descriptive approach. data collection techniques use observation, interviews and documentation. Qualitative descriptive data analysis technique.The results of this research show that 1) the form of the Rangkuk Alu dance performance is that at the beginning, the dancers form three rows facing forward while holding bamboo in charge of playing the bamboo and followed by the members in charge of dancing b. Arriving at the performance venue, dancers and performers prepare the bamboo by arranging it in a box to be ready to perform c. After the dancers and players have prepared themselves, the person in charge of stomping the bamboo begins to stomp starting with a slow tempo then followed by a fast tempo. 2) The role of the Compang Toe Studio in preserving the Rangkuk Alu Dance is by recruiting talented dancers, holding performances in the studio to serve as a medium of entertainment for local and foreign people, taking part in invitations to performances at Dana hotels and other events.
