Abstract

Customary traditions are a very important aspect of today's society and must be preserved. The problem that occurs today is that people are less aware of the importance of this culture. This is also experienced by the Dariwali and Bowaru communities who have one annual tradition, namely Reba Nage and O Luka song. The problem formulation of this research includes (1) How is the implementation stage of the Reba Nage ceremony in Dariwali village and Bowaru village, Jerebuu sub-district, Ngada district. (2) What is the meaning of O Luka singing at the Reba Nage ceremony in Dariwali village and Bowaru village, Jerebuu sub-district, Ngada district. The objectives of this study are (1) To know and describe the stages of the Reba Nage ceremony in Dariwali village and Bowaru village, Jerebuu sub-district, Ngada district. (2) To analyze the meaning of O Luka singing at the Reba Nage ceremony in Dariwali village and Bowaru village, Jerebuu sub-district, Ngada district. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach and ethnographic method. The research data were collected using observation, interview, documentation and literature study techniques. The data analysis technique was carried out with the flow of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the Reba Nage ceremony has several stages, namely. (1) the stages of the Reba Nage ceremony consist of: a) the preparation stage, namely preparing all the needs that will be used during the Reba ceremony. b) the initial stage consists of the Ruki Ana Ma'u, Rebha, Tege Kaju Lasa ceremonies. c) the core stage consists of the Kobe Dheke / Dheke Reba, Sedo Uwi / Sedo Uwi Reba Ge Nua Nata, Woko Uwi, Su'i Uwi ceremonies (2) The O Luka song contains historical meaning in which the O Luka poem as a whole tells the history of the ancestors' journey to Ngada land. Syair O Luka also aims to re-cultivate past events so that the current generation does not easily forget the history of their origins.
