Abstract

The Special Children's Development Institute (LPKA) is an institution that plays an important role in supporting the development of children with special needs. In Kupang City, the current condition of facilities and services is often insufficient to meet the educational and developmental needs of these children. This research aims to redesign LPKA class 1 with a more inclusive and effective behavioral approach. The research methodology includes needs analysis, field observations, and consultation with related parties such as educators, parents, and special education experts. Based on the results of the analysis, this redesign focuses on developing three main aspects: (1) Physical facilities that support accessibility and comfort, (2) Curriculum that is adapted to individual children's needs, and (3) Increasing the capacity of teaching staff through training and professional development. The results of this redesign are expected to improve the quality of class 1 LPKA services in Kupang City, create an environment that is more supportive of children's development, and provide adequate training for teaching staff. It is hoped that the implementation of this design will have a positive impact on the education and welfare of children with special needs, as well as providing a model that can be applied in other areas with similar needs.
