Abstract

The planning and design of the arts studio in Betun, Malacca Regency, aims to create facilities that support the preservation and development of local arts and culture. Malacca Regency, which is rich in tradition and culture, needs a studio that is not only a place to practice but also a center for artistic activities that involve the community. This study involves analyzing community needs, identifying local artistic potential, and designing spaces that suit the expected functions and activities. The planning process began with a study of the habits and needs of the Betun community in the context of arts and culture. Field research was carried out to collect data about popular types of art, existing art groups, and the community's desires and expectations regarding art facilities. The results of this study are then used to formulate programs that will be held at the studio, such as training, performances and exhibitions. In the design stage, aspects such as room layout, acoustics, lighting and accessibility become the main focus to ensure that the studio can optimally support various artistic activities. The architectural design aims to create an inspiring atmosphere and support interaction between artists and art lovers. The use of local materials and environmentally friendly construction techniques is also an important consideration in the design. It is hoped that the results of this planning and design will produce an arts studio that not only meets practical needs but also functions as a center for cultural revitalization in Betun. In this way, it is hoped that this studio can contribute to the preservation of traditional art, the development of modern art, and strengthening the cultural identity of the Malacca community.
