Abstract
This thesis is entitled "The Role of Organizational Communication of Student Associations in Improving Soft Skills (Case Study of Student Associations of Communication Studies Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Widya Mandira Catholic University, Kupang) Organizational communication is the transfer of meaning, flow of information, and exchange of information in any organization. This study uses the concept of organization, organizational communication, development of student soft skills. The theory used is the theory of organizational communication which has indicators in the form of communication skills, cooperation, responsibility, and critical thinking. The method used in this study is the case study method, with a qualitative descriptive research type. Data collection techniques used are interviews and observations. Based on the results of the study, it was found that effective organizational communication can improve the soft skills of HMPS members and administrators in terms of communication skills in the form of improving public speaking skills, increasing cooperation from members, increasing a sense of responsibility, and critical thinking in resolving conflicts that occur. Researchers can conclude that the Role of Organizational Communication of Student Associations in Improving Soft Skills (Case Study of Student Associations of Communication Studies Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Widya Mandira Catholic University, Kupang) can improve students' communication skills in the form of public speaking, leadership, ethics, adaptation, time management, critical thinking, and cooperation in resolving conflicts that occur in the organization. Suggestions that researchers can give to the organization, further improve and maintain good communication between the chairman, vice, and all administrators from each division so that cooperation and responsibility continue to run in order to achieve the goals that have been set together.
