Abstract
A mixed ensemble is a musical performance together using more than one type of musical instrument. In mixed ensemble learning, students are required to be able to play each musical instrument by paying attention to the harmony of the sound and supporting cohesiveness when starting and ending and maintaining the tempo of the game. The problem experienced at SMP Negeri 6 Amarasi Timur is that there are no educators/arts and culture teachers at the school. This results in the ensemble learning process being carried out more focused on providing theory and material. The main problem in this research is what is the process of playing mixed ensemble music with the song model "Ro Ina Ro" using the drill method for class VIII students at SMP Negeri 6 Amarasi Timur and how is the rhythmic cohesiveness in mixed ensemble music playing. The aim of this research is to determine the process of playing mixed ensemble music with the song model "Ro Ina Ro" using the drill method for class VIII students at SMP Negeri 6 Amarasi Timur and to determine the rhythmic cohesiveness in mixed ensemble music playing. The type of research used in this research is a qualitative approach, the method used is the field action method. To obtain data, researchers used observation, interview and documentation techniques. The research results showed that the learning process was carried out through the following steps: the initial stage was the first meeting where the researcher recruited class VIII students at SMP Negeri 6 Amarasi Timur. The researcher also explained the aims and objectives of the research, introduced and provided material about mixed ensembles and the song Ri Ina Ro. Researchers divided students into groups based on the instruments played based on their interests. In this final stage, research subjects are required to be able to apply what they have learned into this song and present it in the form of an ensemble performance and document it as the final form of research. Based on the research results above, it can be concluded that using the drill method in the song "Ro Ina Ro" for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 6 East Amarasi was successful and quite effective in improving the skills of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 6 Amarasi Timur.
