Abstract

This scholarly inquiry seeks to ascertain the enhancement of students' educational outcomes and engagement through the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning instructional model, augmented by PhET Simulation in the context of Fluid mechanics. The investigation was executed at SMA Negeri 2 Kupang. The methodological framework employed in this study was the One Group Pre-test - Post-test Design. The sample selected for this research utilized purposive sampling, comprising 32 students from class XI MIPA 11. The instruments and tools utilized in this study included Teaching Materials (Teaching Modules), Student Worksheets (LKPD), and assessment items (Pre-test-Post-test) presented in multiple choice format. The data analysis methodology adopted in this study was quantitative descriptive analysis alongside the normalized gain test (N-Gain). The findings of this research indicate that the employment of the Problem-Based Learning instructional model, in conjunction with PhET Simulation media, significantly enhances students' cognitive learning outcomes and engagement, evidenced by an average pre-test score of 51.875, an average post-test score of 93.125, and a normalized gain (N-Gain) value of 0.86, which is categorized within the very high criteria.
