Abstract
This thesis was entitled "The Role of Tourism Department to Facilitate Semana Santa as Religious Tourism Attraction at East Flores Regency". The problems of this studied was what is the role of the Tourism Office in facilitating Semana Santa as a religious tourist attraction in East Flores Regency? The theory used to answer the problems was theory of the role of Tourism Department to Facilitate Semana Santa as a religious tourism attraction at East Flores Regency. The research method used in this study was qualitative description method, the data sources obtained were primary data and secondary data, the data collection method used were interviews and documentation. The variable used in this research was the role of Tourism Department to facilitate Semana Santa as a religious tourism attraction at East Flores Regency. The result of this study show that: 1) The role of the Tourism and Culture Department in supporting facilities and infrastructure consists of two parts, namely; a) Tourist facilities, facilities prepared for the Semana Santa tour. Travel agents, tour operators, tourist transportation, restaurants, accommodation, tourist attractions. b) Tourism infrastructure, the tourism infrastructure prepared were roads, electricity, water, telecommunications, terminals, bridges and so on. 2) The role of the Department of Tourism and Culture in providing training is divided into two, namely a) Tourism business management training, namely following training on manual and digital tourism marketing. b) Train business actors to expand marketing by holding training from professional staff and also conducting comparative studies on marketing and digital. 3) The role of the Tourism and Culture Department in establishing regulations is divided into two parts, namely; a) Making signs such as symbols for places to eat, shopping centers, road directions and signs containing warnings. b) The rules made were that participants must register themselves, not bring or be drunk when attending the celebration, bring sharp objects in any form and also not bring explosives such as firecrackers or anything that produces loud noises in the celebration procession, even tools. Communication such as cellphones was also prohibited. Suggestions that need to be conveyed in this writing were 1) To the government, namely East Flores Tourism Department, to make regulations specifically for Semana Santa celebrations and also continue to improve the quality of community human resources in order to increase Semana Santa tourism. 2) To the church to continue to collaborate with the East Flores Tourism Office in developing Semana Santa tourism as a religious tourism that can improve the community's economy and regional development. 3) Visitors were advised to uphold the rules set by the celebration committee and respect all the rules and regulations that apply.
