Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze and describe the fakctors that influence the level of public awareness in paying land and building taxes in Golo Bilas village, Komodo district, west Manggarai Regency. The theory use in this study refers to the framework of Devianingrum Nia Niaty (2019), which identifies the six main fakctors that affect taxpayer awareness. Namely: Clarity of regulations, taxpayer motivation, education level, income level, counseling, and sanctionstax. The results showed that most people still have a limited understanding of building land tax regulations, the motivation to pay taxes is influenced by the level of service and the perceived benefits, as well as the level of education and income also influencesability and willingness to fulfill tax obligations. In addition, counseling that is still minimal and less firm sanctions is also a factor inhibiting in increasing public awareness. Thus, increasing the effectiveness of the socialization, improving tax services, and the application of consistent sanctions is a strategic step to increase public compliance in paying building tax.
