Abstract
This study aims to find the effectiveness of the British Council Module in enhancing students’ vocabulary mastery and to identify the challenges faced by students in learning vocabulary using the British Council module. (The method used in this study was Classroom Action Research (CAR) with two cycles. The participants were 27 seventh-grade students from the VII class in SMPN 12 Kota Kupang. The instruments used were pre-test, post-test, and observation sheets. The result showed that using the British Council module is effective in improving students’ vocabulary mastery. This can be seen from the increase in the students’ average score from the pre-test (59,37) to the post-test II (88,74). The British Council module shows its effectiveness in enhancing students’ vocabulary mastery from the result of pre-test and post-test II. Furthermore, the observation sheets strengthen this idea because the students faced no significant challenges in learning vocabulary using the British Council module.
