Abstract

Discovery learning approach is a learning approach to develop active learner’s way of learning by discovering themselves, investigating themselves, then the result obtained will not be easily forgotten by students. Based on observations when practicing field experience in Kupang 1 Christian High School, several problems were found, namely students were less actively involved during the learning process, most students did not have the attention and interest in the chemistry learning process so that the authors apply the discovery learning approach so that students can be actively involved directly in the learning ptocess, students find, investigate and solve their own problems and the teacher only acts as a facilitator and does not dominate durig the learning process. Thr purpose of writing this paper is to find out the learning outcomes of students who apply the discovery learning approach to the reaction rate material based on the practice of field experience in Kupang 1 Christian High School. Learning outcomes obtained by students of class XI IPA 1 can be detailed as follows: (a) learning outcomes of knowledge aspects KI 3 are declaraced to be complete with an average value of 82, (b) learning outcomes of skill aspects KI 4 are declaraced to be complete with an average value of 86, (c) overall learning outcomes stated complete with an averagevalue of 84.
