Abstract

In learning mathematics, the problem that is often experienced by students at school is communication. Students cannot solve mathematical problems because these students have difficulty communicating their ideas or ideas. Mathematical communication ability is one of the factors that affect student learning outcomes. In addition, other factors that affect student learning outcomes are internal factors, in this case the affective factor, namely self-confidence. Self-confidence is the extent to which students have confidence in their assessment of students' abilities and the extent to which students can feel there is "appropriateness" to succeed. Each student has different self-confidence because every human being is created with different character, personality and self-confidence. The writing method that the author uses in this scientific paper is a literature study or literature review. Based on the results obtained from the literature, the authors can conclude that self-confidence is very influential on communication skills and students' mathematics learning outcomes where self-confidence and mathematical communication skills are very important in supporting the achievement of mathematics learning objectives. By communicating students can improve vocabulary, develop speaking skills, write ideas systematically, and have better learning abilities, besides that high self-confidence will also affect the improvement of learning outcomes.
