Abstract
This study aims to determine whether there is effect of mind mapping learning model towards mathematics learning achievement in junior high school students. The research method in this study is an experimental study with a research design that is one group pre-test and post-test design. The data in this study is data and data pretest posttest of the experimental class (mind mapping) data obtained were analyzed using SPSS version 16.0. prior to testing hypotheses, normality test for data pretest and posttest of the data analysis results obtained by the Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.619> 0.05. While ≤ Dtabel calculated as = 0.148 = 0.259. Thus H0 is accepted, which means normal distribution of data, while data posttest value Sig.(2-tailed) = 0, 291 > 0.05 whereas ≤ Dtabel calculated as = 0.192 = 0.259. Thus H0 is accepted, which means normal distribution of data. Testing the hypothesis in this study is paired sample test sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000 <0.05 or -thitung = - 7.417 < table = -2.059. So that means reject H0 There is effect of mind mapping learning model on the learning achievement in junior high school students. These results indicate that the learning model mind mapping effect on mathematics learning achievement in junior high school students therefore the authors suggest for teachers to use learning model mind mapping as a learning model that can be used in the classroom in accordance with the material being taught
