Abstract

This Research aims to analyze the difficulties students in solving the general form of number sequences in class students VIII SMPK Sta. Familia Sikumana based on indicators of understanding concepts, Principles, and solving verbal problems. The research subjects were six students who had high, medium and low abilities with two qualifications each. Data were collected through problem solving tests and interviews. Time triangulation was used to test the data. Data analysis was carried out in three stages, namelydara reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions.The results showed that JT( high skills) subjects had difficulties in understanding the concepts and principles and principles of BBO (hight skills)and did not experience difficulties in solving problems.KDS subject(medium ability) have not difficulty in solving problems.DL subject( medium ability) have difficulty understanding concepts and principles. BS and MM(low ability) have difficulty in concepts,principles and difficulties in solving verbal problems.
