Abstract

Arpeggio’s technique is a chord arrangement that one tone of one tone is a sequential entry. This technique is commonly used in accompaniment guitar playing and is very good for students who have mastered the strumming technique. One of the learning models that must be done by students is imitating and doing exercises repeatedly. But in reality, students do not know the arpeggios technique. Based on these problems, the formulation of the problem in this study is how the process of applying the arpeggio technique in the mengheningkan cipta song by using the imitation and drill method to students with guitar talent in SMA Negeri 2 Borong. The purpose of this study was to determine the process of applying the arpeggio technique in mengheningkan cipta songs using the imitation and drill method on students with guitar talent in SMA Negeri 2 Borong. The method used is the field action method and the type of research used is qualitative research and the learning method used is the imitation method, namely the researcher provides an overview or example and the drill method is repeated exercises with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that in the application of the arpeggio technique to the song of silence, The researcher carried out the research through three stages, namely the preparation stage including student recruitment and determining the exercise schedule, the core stage including practicing etude-etude and practicing songs of silence measure songs, and the final stage including staging the results of the exercise. In this study, of course, there were difficulties found in the students during the research process, namely improper fingering when strumming the strings, not mastering the chords of the song being played, and not following the adagio tempo. However, these obstacles can be overcome by training and giving examples of students repeatedly. So that students can play mengheningkan cipta songs using the arpeggios technique quite well. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that in the process of "Application of Arpeggio Techniques in Mengheningkan Cipta Song by Using Imitation and Drill Methods on Guitar Talent Interest Students of SMA Negeri 2 Borong" of course experienced obstacles during the research process. However, these obstacles can be overcome by using imitation and drill methods.
