Abstract

At the intersection of 3 Jl. Piet A. Tallo- Jl. M. Sabaat, Liliba, Kupang City often gets traffic jams because many road users do not comply with the prohibition signs to turn right directly at the intersection. As a result, road users will increase the time and distance traveled to get to their destination. In order to reduce or reduce the number of violations and traffic jams, violators must change their travel route by turning their vehicle back on a branch that has a sign indicating a turn around, so that the distance and time taken by road users to arrive at their destination will increase compared to what is usually direct. turn right onto Jl. M. Sabbath. This research was conducted to find reasons for road users to violate the rules of prohibition to turn right and to find the value of willingness to pay from violators of the rules of turning right signs if they have to turn their vehicle around. Data and information obtained by using questionnaires and interview results. The method used in this research is stated preference to get the WTP value from the violators. Then the data will be processed using Microsoft Excel 2007 program. The results show that the reason road users violate the rules for turning right signs at intersection 3 Jl. Piet A. Tallo- Jl. M. Sabaat is because most of the violators do not know there is a right turn prohibition sign at the intersection and it is known that as many as 84.67% of respondents are willing to turn their vehicle around when the road conditions are quiet. The factors that influence the value of the respondents' willingness to pay (WTP) are age.
