Abstract
Thesis Title: Profile of Learning Motivation of Class VIII B Students at UPTD SMP Negeri 5 Kupang in the 2024/2025 Academic Year and its Implications for the Guidance and Counseling Program. The problems explored in this research are: a) What is the profile of learning motivation of Class VIII B students at UPTD SMP Negeri 5 Kupang in the 2024/2025 Academic Year? b) What are the implications of the profile of learning motivation of Class VIII B students at UPTD SMP Negeri 5 Kupang in the 2024/2025 Academic Year for the guidance and counseling program?The research objectives are to determine: a) The profile of learning motivation of Class VIII B students at UPTD SMP Negeri 5 Kupang in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. b) The implications of the profile of learning motivation of Class VIII B students at UPTD SMP Negeri 5 Kupang in the 2024/2025 Academic Year for the guidance and counseling program.The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive, and the data collection tool is a learning motivation questionnaire. The data analysis technique uses the measure of central tendency formula.The results of the data analysis show that the average score of the learning motivation profile of Class VIII B students at UPTD SMP Negeri 5 Kupang is 107.1833, which falls within the score range of 100 – 129, categorized as high. This can be concluded that Class VIII B students at UPTD SMP Negeri 5 Kupang have high learning motivation. Based on the results of the research data analysis as described, the researcher proposes the following suggestions to the related parties: a) For the School Principal: The School Principal is expected to maintain and enhance cooperation with all parties in the school, especially the Guidance and Counseling (GC) Teacher, so that the guidance and counseling program can be implemented effectively to increase students' learning motivation. b) For the Guidance and Counseling Teacher: The GC Teacher is expected to improve good cooperation with the homeroom teacher and subject teachers to obtain information about students experiencing learning motivation problems, which can be followed up with study guidance. c) For Students: Students are expected to be actively involved in the guidance and counseling activities held at school, thus preventing problems related to learning motivation.
