Abstract
This research aims to determine whether or not the influence of the independent learning and parents attention partially or simultaneously to the mathematic learning achievement of grade VII students of SMPN 1 West Kupang. The population in this research are all students of class VII which amounted 6 classes with 1 class amounted to 21 students are used as a sample by using the simple random sampling technique. The type of this research is quantitative research. Statistical analysis that used multiple regression analysis use SPSS 22.0 for windows. The result of hypothesis test (1) there is a partially significant influence of the independent learning ability to the mathematic learning achievement of grade VII students of SMPN 1 West Kupang, as evidenced by the value of tcount = 2.809 > ttable = 2.101, then rejected H0; (2) there is a partially significant influence of the parents attention to the mathematic learning achievement of grade VII students of SMPN 1 West Kupang, as evidenced by the value of tcount = 2.668 > ttable = 2.101, then rejected H0; (3) there is a significant influence simultaneously of the independent learning and parents attention to the mathematic learning achievement of grade VII students of SMPN 1 West Kupang, as evidenced by the value of Fcount = 8.267 > Ftable= 3.55, then rejected H0. Based on the results of the research, the researcher concludes that there is a significant influence of independent learning and parents attention either partially or simultaneously to the mathematic learning achievement of grade VII students of SMPN 1 West Kupang. The author's suggestion for students, in order to manage and improve the independent learning and for mathematics teachers, in order to pay attention and support the independent learning of student and encourage parents to give maximum attention to their children and the author's advice to parents of students, in order to pay attention to learning activities children at home so that mathematics learning achievement is getting better and increasing.
