Abstract
Thesis title: The Influence of Self-Control on Juvenile Delinquency in Class XI IPS Students at Sint Carolus Catholic High School, Kupang, academic year 2023/2024. The problem of this research is whether self-control influences juvenile delinquency in class XI students at Sint Crolus Kupang Catholic High School for the 2023/2024 academic year? The aim of this research is to determine the effect of self-control on juvenile delinquency in class XI students at Sint Carolus Kupang Catholic High School for the 2023/2024 academic year. This research is a type of quantitative research. The variables in the research are the independent variable (X) self-control and the dependent variable (Y) juvenile delinquency. The population and sample in this study were 24 students in class XI IPS at Sint Carolus Catholic High School, Kupang, academic year 2023/2024. The data collection tool used was a questionnaire. The data analysis technique uses a simple linear regression analysis technique and is processed using the SPSS for Windows version 22 application. This research was analyzed using simple regression, namely using the F test and the coefficient of determination test. The results of this research show that there is an influence of self-control on juvenile delinquency in students in Class This is indicated by the F coefficient value of 40.905 with a significance value of 0.000. The self-control variable which influences the juvenile delinquency variable has a contribution of 65%. The remaining 35% is influenced by other factors. Based on the research results, the researcher gives advice to: a) The principal as a leader in the school is expected to be able to support, coordinate all school personnel to play a more active role in paying attention to and guiding students in controlling themselves so that they collaborate with guidance and counseling teachers in implementing the programs strengthen students' self-control. b) Guidance and Counseling Teachers are expected to increase their role so that they can help students increase self-control, so that juvenile delinquency decreases. c) Students are expected to be able to actively participate in taking part in guidance and counseling services carried out by Guidance and Counseling teachers to help students increase self-control so that students are able to change their behavior for the better.
