Abstract

This study aims to 1) find out the activities of students in implementing teaching aids in learning the concept of temperature and heat transfer in class VII A SMP Negeri 6 Kupang Tengah, 2) find out the improvement of student learning outcomes after the implementation of teaching aids in learning the concept of temperature and heat transfer in class VII A SMP Negeri 6 Kupang Tengah. This study is a quantitative research with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The data collection techniques used were in the form of learning outcome tests and observation sheets of learning activities that included cognitive, attitude, and skill aspects. The results of the study showed that the students' activities obtained an average score of 82.86% in the cognitive aspect, 86.29% in the attitude aspect, and 87.62% in the skill aspect, which is classified as a very high category. This shows that the implementation of teaching aids in learning can increase student active involvement. In addition, learning using teaching aids also showed an increase in student learning outcomes, with an N-Gain of 0.78 which was classified as high. The average pretest score was 37.14, increasing to 86.03 there was a posttest, thus proving that the implementation of teaching aids has a positive impact on students' activities and learning outcomes.
