Abstract

Thesis title: Use of Symbolic Modeling Techniques to increase the maturity of students' career choices. The problems studied in this thesis are why symbolic modeling techniques are used to increase the maturity of students' career choices, how is the process of applying symbolic modeling techniques to increase the maturity of students' career choices and whether symbolic modeling techniques are effective in increasing the maturity of students' career choices. The purpose of writing this thesis is to find out the reasons for using symbolic modeling techniques as a technique to increase the maturity of students' career choices, to know the process of applying symbolic modeling techniques as a technique to increase the maturity of students' career choices, to find out the effectiveness of using symbolic modeling techniques as a technique to increase the maturity of students' career choices. Writing this thesis uses a literature study method with descriptive qualitative data type. The object of study in this paper is symbolic modeling techniques and the maturity of students' career choices, with secondary data sources in the form of expert opinions and relevant findings of previous researchers.The results of the discussion are: The writer can use symbolic modeling techniques as a technique to increase the maturity of career choices because by using symbolic modeling techniques, students can directly observe someone who is used as a good model, is expected to be able to provide assistance to students, provide motivation and useful input for development self so that students can quickly understand the behavior that they want to change and can get more effective behaviors, especially those related to student careers. In the process of increasing the maturity of career choices students can use symbolic modeling techniques are rational, example, practice / practice, homework. The use of symbolic modeling techniques as an effective technique increases the maturity of students' career choices, this is evidenced by the results of relevant previous research such as that conducted by Katharina et al. (2017) suggesting that the group guidance service model with modeling techniques is effective for increasing student career maturity.From the discussion above, the writer provides suggestions to readers. It is hoped that readers can become reference material and means of information that are useful for readers regarding the use of symbolic modeling techniques to improve student skills in student career maturity, while the authors are expected to be able to contribute ideas in broadening insights and concepts about the role of symbolic model.
