Abstract

Title of thesis: profile of self-confidence in class VIIA students of SMP Negeri 4 Kota Kupang for the 2022/2023 academic year and the implications for personal guidance programs. Formulation of the problem 1) what is the profile of the selfconfidence of class VIIA students at SMP Negeri 4 Kupang for the 2022/2023 academic year? 2) what are the implications of the self-confidence profile of class VIIA students at SMP Negeri 4 Kota Kupang for the 2022/2023 academic year for the personal guidance program? The purpose of this study was to find out 1) the self-confidence profile of class VIIA students at SMP Negeri 4 Kupang City for the 2022/2023 academic year. 2) implications for the self-confidence profile of class VIIA students at SMP Negeri 4 Kota Kupang for the 2022/2023 academic year for personal guidance programs. This study used a quantitative descriptive method with a data collection tool in the form of a student self-confidence questionnaire. The data analysis technique used is the central tendency analysis. The results of the analysis of each aspect show that the aspect of confidence in students' self-ability scores of 29 is in the range of scores 29-35 including the high category, the optimistic aspect of the score is 27, 3750 is between the range of scores 22-28 including the medium category, the objective aspect is the score score of 25, 6250 is between the range of scores 22-28 including the moderate category, the objective aspect score of 27.5312 is between the range of scores 22- 28 including the medium category and the rational aspect and the reality score of xi 21, 8906 is between the range a score of 15-21 is in the low category. It can be concluded that class VIIA students at SMP Negeri 4 Kota Kupang for the 2022/2023 academic year have good self-confidence. In accordance with the results of the research above, the researcher provides suggestions to a) The principal as the person in charge of the school to continue to coordinate counselors or guidance counselors in carrying out personal guidance properly, in order to help students overcome problems so they can maintain good student selfconfidence. b) Guidance and counseling teachers are expected to design and develop personal guidance programs in order to maintain good student selfconfidence. c) Students are expected to actively utilize the personal guidance program implemented by the guidance and counseling teacher to maintain good self-confidence.
